HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 12 September 2025 – The 10th edition of the Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong (September 10-11) gathered about 6 200 high-profile participants from governments, international organisations, companies and the global media to celebrate a decade of achievements in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative (B&RI).

Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), this year’s flagship Summit adopted “Collaborate for Change – Shape a Shared Future” as its theme.

In his welcoming speech, HKSAR’s Chief Executive John Lee said, “Over the past 10 years, more than 45 000 people from over 120 countries and regions have participated in the Summit.”

HKSAR’s Chief Executive John Lee says that Hong Kong is the ideal Belt and Road hub.

“Together, they have presented over 2 800 projects along the Belt and Road, shaping a shared vision through collaboration and connectivity, which are the fundamental values of the Belt and Road Initiative.”

This year’s Summit yielded a record high of 45 government and enterprise memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and commercial agreements, highlighting Hong Kong’s role as the functional platform for the B&RI. The total value of these MOUs and agreements, together with new projects and deals finalised before the Summit, is close to US$1 billion.

Hong Kong is also a leading fund-raising hub for Belt and Road economies. In fact, more than 100 Belt and Road companies are listed on the HKEX, with more to come.

“Hong Kong is the ideal Belt and Road hub,” said Mr Lee. “As the only world city that converges both the China advantage and the global advantage, Hong Kong stands as the premier gateway for co-operation, bridging people, trade, business, education, culture and values across the region, connecting Asia and the world.”

Mr Lee also introduced Hong Kong’s powerful advantages – the city’s status as a global financial centre, its trusted legal system, trade and investment, competitiveness, talent, connectivity, and sustainable development.

On talent, Mr Lee cited that under the HKSAR Government’s Belt and Road Scholarship and other programmes, more than 4 000 students from Belt and Road countries enroll in Hong Kong’s world-class tertiary programmes every year.

During the Summit, a number of thematic sessions covering areas such as legal services, trade and commerce, insurance, architecture, green finance and logistics were held to advance a more prosperous, green and interconnected future for Belt and Road countries and regions.

The Commissioner for Belt and Road of the HKSAR Government, Nicholas Ho (third left), speaks at one of the Summit’s thematic sessions which were held to foster a more prosperous, green and interconnected future for Belt and Road countries and regions.

Major Belt and Road projects and events are also staging global roadshows in Hong Kong. They include the Future Investment Initiative PRIORITY Summit in 2023, the recent Saudi Super Cup football tournament, and LEAP – one of the Middle East’s largest tech expos, which chose Hong Kong for its first global edition, LEAP East, to be held next year.

Around the Summit period, more than 20 Belt and Road-related activities are also being held. They cover trade and business, arts and culture, music, sports and academia.

Among the events are “Wonders of Imperial Carpets: Masterpieces from the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha” exhibition at the Hong Kong Palace Museum until October 6, and Belt and Road – Long Yu & Behzod Abduraimov concert by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra on September 27. Uni-Bio Science Group and Kexing Biopharm Forge Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Global Expansion of Osteoporosis Treatment Bogutai®

Source: Media Outreach

HONG KONG SAR – EQS Newswire – 12 September 2025 – Uni-Bio Science Group (“the Group”) is pleased to announce the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Kexing Biopharm (Stock Code: 688136.SH), a leading biopharmaceutical company with extensive expertise in global commercialization. Under this landmark agreement, Beijing Genetech Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (“Beijing Genetech”), a subsidiary of the Group, has granted Kexing Biopharm exclusive rights to commercialize Bogutai® (Teriparatide Injection) in six international markets, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico (“Cooperation Regions”). Bogutai® is expected to complete registration and generate revenue in the Cooperation Regions as early as the end of 2026. The signing ceremony, held in Zhangqiu District, Jinan City, marks a pivotal step in the Group’s international expansion and its commitment to advancing osteoporosis care worldwide.

Pioneering Osteoporosis Treatment with Proven Results

Bogutai® is a recombinant human parathyroid hormone analog (PTH1–34), an anabolic treatment for osteoporosis that has been widely recognized for its efficacy and safety. Recommended by numerous domestic and international clinical guidelines, Teriparatide is particularly effective in improving bone microarchitecture and reducing fracture risk in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures.

Since its launch in China in March 2024, Bogutai® has demonstrated rapid market adoption, achieving a remarkable revenue growth of 248.9% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, reaching approximately HK$65.6 million. This impressive performance underscores the strong demand for innovative osteoporosis therapies and highlights the untapped potential of Bogutai® in global markets.

Addressing the Global Osteoporosis Epidemic

Osteoporosis, often referred to as a “silent killer,” affects over 200 million people globally, with the aging population exacerbating its prevalence. Early-stage osteoporosis is typically asymptomatic, leading to delayed diagnoses and severe complications such as fractures. In China, for example, only 6.5% of individuals receive osteoporosis treatment within six months of a fracture. Similarly, emerging markets across the Middle East and North Africa face low diagnosis and treatment rates despite growing awareness and significant patient populations.

Injectable therapies like Teriparatide have been recommended by the Guidelines for Rational Drug Use of Osteoporosis in Primary Care (2021) for patients unable to tolerate oral medications, those with poor adherence, or individuals at high risk of fractures, including elderly patients with multiple vertebral or hip fractures. With its targeted mechanism of action as a bone-forming agent, Bogutai® is uniquely positioned to address this unmet medical need in both established and emerging markets. It is estimated that the osteoporosis market in the Cooperation Regions is nearly USD 1.5 billion, with a patient population exceeding 10 million.

A Collaboration Built on Complementary Strengths

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Kingsley Leung, Chairman of Uni-Bio Science Group, said: “Teriparatide Injection is a transformative therapy with immense potential in overseas markets. By partnering with Kexing Biopharm, a company with a robust international commercialization network and proven operational expertise, we are confident in our ability to bring Bogutai® to patients in need across key regions. This collaboration represents a critical step in our mission to improve global bone health.”

Mr. Zhao Yanqing, General Manager of Kexing Biopharm, added: “We are excited to join forces with Uni-Bio Science Group to unlock the regional potential of Bogutai®. With our established capabilities in regulatory approvals and market promotion, we aim to accelerate product registration and commercialization, ensuring that this innovative therapy reaches patients quickly and effectively.”

Enhancing Global Competitiveness in Osteoporosis Care

With over 20 years of international commercialization experience, Kexing Biopharm has built a strong marketing network spanning the European Union and emerging markets. The addition of Bogutai® to its portfolio complements its existing success with previously introduced denosumab injection, creating a comprehensive suite of osteoporosis treatments that combines “anti-resorptive” and “bone-forming” therapies. This synergy enhances the competitiveness of both companies in addressing the growing global demand for osteoporosis care.

For Uni-Bio Science Group, this partnership is a key milestone in its internationalization strategy. Bogutai® is expected to generate revenue in the Cooperation Regions as early as the end of 2026, and with its competitive pricing, it may achieve higher profit margins. Beyond the collaboration with Kexing Biopharm, the Group is actively pursuing FDA approval for Bogutai® in the United States, having already received a waiver for in vivo bioequivalence studies. With this expedited regulatory pathway, FDA approval is anticipated in 2027, further solidifying the Group’s position as a leader in osteoporosis treatment.

The Group is also advancing innovative pipeline products, including Uni-PTH (microneedle) for osteoporosis and UB107 (a Class III medical device) for bone repair, reinforcing its commitment to addressing unmet medical needs in bone metabolism and regenerative medicine.

Shaping the Future of Osteoporosis Treatment

Looking ahead, Uni-Bio Science Group remains dedicated to expanding its global footprint, deepening strategic partnerships, and accelerating the development of innovative therapies. By bringing Chinese innovation to the world, the Group aims to improve the lives of osteoporosis patients and set new standards in bone health and regenerative medicine.

Source: Media Outreach

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 12 September 2025 – FGA Trust, a licensed trustee in Hong Kong, participated in the 2025 Inclusion Conference on the Bund by the invitation of InvestHK, and underscored the city’s role as a bridge between global capital flows and Asia’s fast-growing digital asset landscape. The firm’s participation highlighted the synergy between Hong Kong’s regulatory innovation and China’s financial opening, which is reshaping the future of cross-border wealth management.

Trust Structures Support Diversified Allocation

As global high-net-worth migration accelerates, demand for institutional-grade wealth management frameworks continues to rise. According to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (2024), the city’s trust market—anchored by approximately HK$1.45 trillion in assets linked to family offices and private clients—is evolving beyond its traditional focus on succession and tax planning toward broader asset allocation. At the conference, FGA Trust emphasized its ability to help international families diversify across equities, bonds, real estate, and the rapidly expanding digital asset class, all within a transparent and compliant framework.

RWA Regulation at the Center of Discussion

FGA Trust CSO Helen Chen at the Inclusion Conference.

During the policy discussion, Helen Chen, Chief Strategy Officer of FGA Trust, shared insights on Hong Kong’s RWA regulatory sandbox, stressing how the framework enables innovation while balancing risk management in a controlled pilot environment. She noted that Hong Kong’s regulatory design is shifting from a static framework to an evolving testing platform, offering new opportunities for wealth managers and trustees to integrate digital assets.

Synergy Between Hong Kong and Shanghai

The Bund Conference further highlighted the complementary roles of Hong Kong and Shanghai in wealth management. For Chinese entrepreneurs and family offices, Hong Kong’s trust and cross-border frameworks provide internationalization channels, while Shanghai represents a vast onshore capital base. FGA Trust leveraged the event to engage with mainland investors, showcasing its AI-driven onboarding processes, asset-linked trust solutions, and hybrid wealth structures designed to bridge the two markets.

Through its presence at the Bund Conference, FGA Trust not only showcased Hong Kong’s strengths in global capital migration, regulatory innovation, and digital asset adoption, but also underscored the evolving mission of the trust industry: to transform from a static asset container into a dynamic platform integrating traditional and digital wealth management.

eefit Far Infrared Technology Scientifically Verified by Renowned Hong Kong University: Improves Two Major Symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease, Bringing New Hope to Brain Health Protection

0

Source: Media Outreach

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 12 September 2025 – With Hong Kong’s aging population, Alzheimer’s disease has become a major public health challenge. The Hong Kong Council of Social Service projects that by 2036, the number of people with dementia in Hong Kong will reach 280,000. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of the condition, accounting for approximately 65% of existing cases among elderly individuals. A recent report released by the Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine at a renowned Hong Kong university stated, “Considerable resources have been invested globally in developing treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. However, for patients in the middle and late stages of the disease, various treatment options remain ineffective in halting the progression of the disease.” These treatments not only have limited effectiveness but also come with side effects, creating an increasingly urgent need for disease prevention and treatment.

In 2025, the collaboration between the research team of that leading university in Hong Kong and Prof. Nick Wang, Founder and Head of R&D at eefit has led to a critical breakthrough. They discovered that eefit far infrared technology can simultaneously suppress β-amyloid (Aβ) deposition and tau protein hyperphosphorylation, creating an innovative solution for preventing Alzheimer’s disease. The results were published in NeuroMolecular Medicine (Volume 27, Article 34, 2025).

First Study with Evidence of Simultaneous Dual-Pathology Improvement Mechanism in Transgenic Mouse Model

To address the future need for Alzheimer’s disease prevention and treatment in Hong Kong, the research team explored non-pharmacological physical therapies. Using a TgCRND8 transgenic mouse model, they conducted a 28-day irradiation experiment with eefit far infrared light (FIR, wavelength range of 4-20μm) to evaluate its effectiveness in improving disease pathology. The study found:

  • Improved cognitive function: The FIR-treated mice group showed significant improvement in cognitive function and memory during the Morris Water Maze Test (MWMT).
  • Aβ deposition suppression: Decreased Aβ42/Aβ40 ratio in the cortex, reduced plaque deposits, and increased Aβ clearance.
  • Tau protein hyperphosphorylation inhibition: Significantly reduced tau protein phosphorylation levels at different sites, such as Thr205, Ser36, etc., and reduced the formation of neurofibrillary tangles.
  • Dual-pathway mechanism: Suppression of neuroinflammatory pathways (reduced IL-1β, TNF-α and increased IL-4) and activation of antioxidant pathways (enhanced Nrf2/HO-1 pathway), achieving dual-pathway protection.

Using a transgenic mouse model, this study confirms for the first time that eefit far infrared technology can simultaneously reduceAβ deposition and tau protein hyperphosphorylation through physical intervention. Previous studies have only focused on single-pathology interventions, making the significance of this study on the dual-pathway improvement effect groundbreaking.

The Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine at a renowned Hong Kong university said, “As a non-invasive treatment option, far infrared therapy has the potential to delay the disease progression of patients with mild cognitive impairment for several years, thereby reducing the burden on overall medical resources and providing significant assistance to families and caregivers.”

This groundbreaking discovery also provides solid scientific evidence to support the industrial application of eefit far infrared technology.

International R&D Team Drives Industrialisation Capability

To promote the transformation of far infrared technology from scientific research results to industrial applications, eefit has built a global R&D system with scientific research as its core driving force, first collaborating with the “State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine” at the Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) to launch the “eefit Biomedical Research Project” in the early years. In 2021, eefit further expanded its global collaboration network by partnering with “Dr. Neher’s Biophysics Laboratory for Innovative Drug Discovery”, founded by Dr. Erwin Neher, Nobel Prize Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, strengthening its R&D capability.

In recent years, multiple international journal articles have confirmed that eefit far infrared technology is effective in the fields of intestinal microecology, rheumatoid arthritis, cerebral stroke, neuroinflammation, and immunomodulation.

Market Response and Social Responsibility Are Equally Important

In tandem with advancing scientific research, eefit is also dedicated to upholding our social responsibilities. In 2024, eefit launched the “eBrain Movement”, which provided brain health services to 212,000 people across our retail stores in Hong Kong. User feedback showed improvement in their bodily conditions, including neurodegenerative symptoms such as headaches, tinnitus, hair loss, hand tremors, nocturia, etc., with unanimous reports of improved sleep quality after treatment. Both this programme and academic research have proven the remarkable effect of eefit far infrared technology in the fields of brain health, sub-health of the middle-aged and elderly, and auxiliary treatment of complex diseases.

Multidimensional Breakthrough in Managing Sub-Health in the Middle-Aged and Elderly

Based on this technology, eefit has already developed a variety of products, building an all-encompassing “Prevention + Maintenance + Adjustment” health management system, meeting the diverse needs of the middle-aged and elderly population from disease prevention to daily health management:

  • Alzheimer’s disease prevention: Reduces Aβ deposits and abnormal tau proteins, reducing the risk of disease.
  • Brain health: Relieves neurological problems such as effects of stroke, and enhances brain vitality.
  • Chronic pain care: Relieves pains such as neck/shoulder/lower back/leg pain, and rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
  • Digestive system regulation: Optimizes gut microbiota and enhances nutrient absorption.

Global Report puts Evidence as Heart of Better Philanthropy to Tackle Complexity

0

Source: Media Outreach

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 12 September 2025 – At a time when governments, development agencies, and NGOs strive to address complex social challenges, the necessity to demonstrate real, sustainable results has never been greater. To remain effective, philanthropy must move with purpose, not only to fund initiatives but also to embrace measurement and evidence as a compass for decision-making and meaningful social change. To help the philanthropic sector do good, better, Tanoto Foundation launched The Evidence Behind Better Philanthropy report at the AVPN Global Conference in Hong Kong.

The study, developed in partnership with the Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI), provides a first-of-its-kind comparative analysis of how leading global foundations practice monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), a much-discussed but often elusive cornerstone of effective philanthropy. By combining in-depth interviews with foundation leaders and an extensive review of global practice, the report offers timely insights from some of the world’s most influential funders on how evidence is shaping strategy, guiding adaptation, and enabling more collaborative approaches to impact across diverse and complex contexts.

Benny Lee, CEO of Tanoto Foundation, said: “For philanthropy to do good, it must also do better, because today’s challenges are more complex and interconnected. At Tanoto Foundation, we see evidence not just as a tool for accountability, but as a compass for strategy. By embedding monitoring, evaluation, and learning at the heart of decision-making, we can steward resources more effectively and contribute to meaningful, lasting social change.”

The report identifies 10 key findings, clustered into three broad themes for the philanthropic sector:

1. Strategy and Decision-Making: Embedding evidence into strategy through integrated “SMEL” (Strategy, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) ensures programmes are responsive and adaptive, reducing wasted resources and increasing policy effectiveness.

2. Culture and Capacity: A learning culture, backed by senior leadership and grantee capacity-building, enables funders and implementers to course-correct in real time – critical for large-scale reforms and systems change.

3. Tools and Ecosystem for Impact: Flexible evaluation methods, a focus on contribution over attribution, and strategic communication help funders, governments, and NGOs align their efforts and scale what works.

Murni Leo, Global Head of Measurement, Learning and Evaluation at Tanoto Foundation, added: “This study reflects our belief that learning should not stop at compliance, but drive continuous improvement. At Tanoto Foundation, we have embedded MEL into how we design programmes, test assumptions, and adapt in real time. By sharing global practices openly, we hope to encourage a culture of collaboration where funders and partners alike can strengthen their use of evidence. When the sea rises, all boats rise—and MEL is one way to lift the sector together.”

The report aims to support decision-makers across sectors to design more effective interventions, strengthen accountability, and collaborate for systemic change.

The full report is now available and can be downloaded via the Tanoto Foundation website.
