Hamilton Police investigating serious firearms incident

Hamilton Police are investigating how a Hamilton teenager sustained critical injuries in a firearms incident this week.

At 12:20am yesterday (29 June) the 16-year-old boy arrived at Waikato Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

He soon after collapsed and remains in a critical condition in hospital. The boy’s family have been informed and they are being supported by Police

Police are treating this incident very seriously, and officers are working to establish how and where the boy came to be injured, and who else may have been involved.

Officers want to hear from anyone who can help, and we urge those with information to contact us at 105, quoting file number 210629/7295.
