Police can now advise one person has died following a crash on State Highway 1 (Glenavy-Hilderthorpe Road), Waitaki last night.
The crash, involving a car and a truck, was reported to Police at 8.05pm.
The driver of the car – the sole occupant – was killed in the crash.
The road has re-opened and the Serious Crash Unit has examined the crash scene.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
