Police can now release the name of the person who died following a serious crash on SH35 / Moana Road, Okitu on Saturday 2 September.
He was Alan Hjorth, 70, of Gisborne.
Police extend our condolences to his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
