Road closures are in place along SH51, near Clive Bridge, following a leak at the wastewater treatment plant today.
Road blocks are in place at Te Awa Avenue, Awatoto Road and Farndon Road.
Anyone on the road is asked to please avoid the area to ensure their own safety.
Police thank motorists for their understanding.
