Police can now confirm one person has died following a serious crash in Gisborne yesterday.
The crash involved two vehicles and occurred on Matawai Road at Te Karaka.
Four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
Sadly, one person has since died.
Matawai Road has reopened.
Motorists are thanked for their patience while emergency services attended.
