Police are now in a position to name the man who died following a crash on East Taieri-Allanton Road on 13 August.
He was Nigel Francis Pile, 68, of Fairfield, Dunedin.
Police extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
