Police continue to search for 29-year-old Ricky Wilson, who escaped from Corrections custody about 7pm last night while being transported from Hutt Hospital to Rimutaka Prison last night.
The search will continue this morning.
We want to reiterate that Wilson should not be approached.
We urge him to come forward and hand himself in to Police.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 111, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
An earlier release stated that Wilson was being transported from prison to hospital.
This was incorrect, Wilson was being transported from hospital to prison.
We apologise for the error.
