NZ Company Finalist in Prestigious Australasian Packaging Awards

0

Source: Press Release Service – Auckland

Finalists were announced this week for the PIDA Australasian Packaging Awards and Kahuku Natural producing plant based natural soaps and cleaners in a world first stainless steel packaging with Swap a Bottle system for refills was one of two finalists in the Health, Beauty & Wellbeing Section.

A small family owned company manufacturing it’s product in Auckland has created unique industry first packaging in stainless steel point of use bottles, and refill from home bottles. The company operates a Swap a Bottle system whereby all bottles return to Kahuku Natural for sterilising and reuse. They aim to divert more than 20,000 point of use bottles from landfill in the first year of operating this system.

In addition Kahuku Natural stocks refilleries around the country with bulk refill stations also using stainless steel kegs which are then returned by the stockist for sterilising and reuse.

Kahuku Natural has been operating this bulk system for just over one year now and the consumer based system since October last year.

The awards are judged on sustainable packaging design considerations and how they meet 2025 National Packaging Targets. A win would see Kahuku Natural automatically entered in the WorldStar Packaging Awards.

Marlborough Business adapts: hypnotherapy on line

Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

Marlborough Business adapts to Covid-19: hypnotherapy on line.

As New Zealand goes into lock-down and people’s daily stress levels rise to new heights, a Marlborough hypnotherapist is doing her bit to help them cope.

For several years Chris Steadman has been operating a successful hypnotherapy business, Ntrance, from her home clinic in the Omaka Valley.
“For many of us, who have never experienced life-changing events that have an enormous impact on everyday lives, these are unprecedented times,” Chris said. “Some people may already suffer with low-level anxiety and find their symptoms have ramped up recently; others might be feeling new physical and psychological strains for the first time.”

Until now, almost all Chris’s therapy has been with Marlborough residents having a 60-80 minute session face-to-face. Given the current Covid-19 lock-down, this is no longer practicable.

With a few hardware adjustments, Chris is now conducting her hypnotherapy sessions on-line using Zoom. This is not an original technological breakthrough. Ever since the advent of Skype, a group of experienced professional hypnotherapists in the UK have been successfully treating their clients on-line.

So far, using Zoom, Chris has been delighted with the results and the ease with which her clients have been able to adjust to staying at home for their treatment sessions. Whereas most of Ntrance’s business came from Nelson/ Marlborough, she is now able to extend her service nationwide.

“This pandemic has many repercussions beyond the actual virus. One is the potential impact on mental health and wellbeing as people try to manage an increasingly stressful situation, and if I can help ease that stress in just a small way, I believe it’s worthwhile trying.”

Though much of her business to date has been for weight loss and quitting smoking, Chris is expecting a surge in clients suffering from stress and anxiety. Happily, anxiety is very amenable to treatment through hypnotherapy, which, by its nature is a deeply relaxing experience.

“To some degree it’s natural to worry, and we all do it – it’s how our brain handles problems or potential problems,” Chris explained. “But it stops being useful if we become stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts about things that are out of our control. We should instead focus on those things within our control, and how we choose to respond to them.”

One such way people have been trying to exercise control and diminish their worries is by the unhelpful practice of ‘panic-buying’ goods such as hand sanitiser and toilet roll. Chris puts this down to an overload of the ‘fight or flight’ response that’s hardwired into our DNA and is being further fuelled by images of empty shelves in the media, and on social media.

0

Source: Press Release Service

New Zealand is a beautiful backdrop for any outdoor enthusiast or worker, but it can also present some challenging weather conditions. Whether you’re battling winter chills at a building site, or you’re scaling a mountain on a brisk summer’s morning, you want the best outdoor wear money can buy, and 36.6 could be it.

Ecowool is a proud stockist of the 36.6 dual-layer system clothing range, a game-changer for any casual outdoor enthusiast or hard worker who wants to be ready to brave the elements.

The new clothing range, which incorporates jerseys, hoodies, sweaters, beanies, and gloves, maintains the wearer’s optimum body temperature and comfort levels in any outdoor conditions. The name, 36.6, relates to the human body’s normal temperature.

The clothing range is made up of two different dual layering systems, each designed to meet the needs of different wearers. The two-layer dual system consists of a possum merino wool lining and 100% wool external top layer. Both layers promote the ultimate in insulating warmth.

The single-layer dual system uses a double knitting technique with lambswool or possum merino to create a lightweight garment that’s comfortable and temperature-regulating.

According to Rebecca Rowan, 36.6 is the perfect pairing to an active outdoor lifestyle.

“EcoWool only stocks the best wool garments and products, and we believe 36.6 is up there with the best. Because they have been tried and tested in every condition you can think of, we’re confident they will suit a range of New Zealanders’ needs.”

Check out the new 36.6 range for yourself by visiting www.ecowool.com. You can also view EcoWool’s extensive range of sheepskin rugs, sheepskin boots and slippers, and natural health products.

Human Rights – PSNA – If this were a Jewish boy, the international outrage would be plastered across the front page of every newspaper and leading every television bulletin around the world

Last week an unarmed Palestinian boy was murdered by the Israeli Defence Force and his body was dangled from and mangled by an Israeli bulldozer. The video is utterly horrifying.

Is it any wonder Israeli troops act like this when Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu says “the only way to treat Palestinians is to beat them up, not once but repeatedly beat them up, until it’s unbearable”.

Late last year Netanyahu described Palestinians involved in an Israeli government as an “existential threat to Israel” – a comment which mirrors what was said in Rwanda before the genocide, in Burma before the Rohingya massacres and in Germany before the Nazi atrocities.

If the word Palestinians were replaced by the word Jews in any of Netanyahu’s statements the world would rightly be outraged.

So why the silence when Palestinians are talked about and treated this way?

The silence is because journalists and media outlets are terrified of being called anti-semitic by the pro-Israeli “media police” who determine what is acceptable and what is not to be reported.

The simple, unreported fact is that the Israeli leadership is driven by race-hatred towards Palestinians. The current Israeli election is being decided on which party will be the most racist and the most brutal towards Palestinians.

The sheer unadulterated brutality (there is no nice way to put it) of the Israeli state has been a constant in Palestinian lives for 70 years.

Gutless, one-sided media reporting bears a large part of the blame.

Transformative.nz Announces Exciting New Rebrand

0

Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

(PR.co.nz)

Webscope, a recognized leader in the bespoke software design and development market, today announced the company’s complete rebranding as Transformative, in recognition of the company’s growth, evolution, and focus on client success. Webscope is now Transformative.

For nearly a decade, Webscope has delivered “business-changing ideas + technology” for clients of all stripes. The company has evolved as the market has matured over that period, shifting its work from the design and development of bespoke business systems, websites, and apps to now also include an enhanced set of additional offerings; digital business strategy, service and process improvement, and development of complete organisation-wide technology platforms – all with a focus on transforming clients’ business and technology to optimise their strategic vision.

This work is underpinned by a market-first digital transformation programme.

“Our digital transformation programme sets a new vision for your organisation, one that better harnesses technology and people to achieve your goals, and moves your business into its next phase of growth. We focus on making your processes more effective, your tools smarter, and your people more empowered to deliver the results you need,” says Katie Te Nahu Owen, co-founder of Transformative.

“The Digital Transformation Programme gives our clients access to the type of strategic thinking and leadership offered by a Chief Digital Officer, backed by a modern, agile development team to execute that vision on an annualised roadmap. This presents a depth of knowledge, capability and expertise far greater than a single CDO could provide. The resulting apps, websites, and integrations we create open new markets, reimagine business as usual, and create exceptional experiences for staff and customers,” says Phil Vinall, Head of Strategy at Transformative.

The rebrand is an opportunity to better communicate the positive impact Transformative creates for its clients. The new brand is a result of months of design, with a goal of presenting Transformative as a fresh, trustworthy, professional organisation – through a simple, modern, and well-thought brand image.

“Our evolution as a company has been based upon delivering successful futures for our clients. Over the years, the market has led us from a website and mobile development organisation to one delivering complete business systems and customer experiences. Our clients recognise our people-focused strategy and technology leadership, and our rebrand reflects our focus on ‘business-changing ideas + technology’, and our contribution to client outcomes. As Transformative, our name is what we do ,” says Tim Clark, co-founder of Transformative.

(PR.co.nz)

Music lovers are being urged to clear their diaries from this Sunday as the Bay Rains music festivals kick off in the Bay of Plenty.

This Sunday marks the beginning of a three-weekend series of top quality blues, rock and funk shows.

Bay Rains will raise funds for the Australian bush fire victims. The shows will be held across three different days at various venues in the Western Bay of Plenty area.

There are more than 30 bands coming from around New Zealand and Australia to perform. All ticket sales will be donated directly to the farmers, wildlife and rural fire brigades that need it.

“Bay Rains is a 100% non-profit project and everything we have raised so far has been donated. It is completely mind blowing how amazing EVERYONE involved has been, a true sense of community pulling together to help our brothers and sisters across the ditch. It’s absolutely mind blowing!” says event organiser Brooke Stinson.

The first performance will be held at The Barrel Room in Tauranga on Sunday March 1st and features acts such as LA Thompson, the Sweet Leaf Trio and Louie Campbell.

Louie Campbell has won many talent quests, this singer/songwriter is certainly one to keep an eye out for. This humble 17 year old star is destined for success.

Performance two is on Saturday March 7th at the Waihi Beach Hotel. Bands who will be playing include Rion Lydon, Electric Universe and Auckland’s The Dirty Tones, whose cutting edge modern blues have attracted international airplay.

The final gig is on Saturday March 14th at the Black Sheep Restaurant in Whakamaramara. Acts include Shabang, Brownie & Mutley and the Chalkie White Band. In 2018 Chalkie White took out the #1 spot on Australian Country radio five times running with singles off of his #1 ARIA winning country album.

Tickets are from $20 and are available online at Eventfinda or at the venues.

This is going to be a fantastic concert series supporting a deserving cause and is not to be missed!
