Attributable to Taupō Area Investigations Manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Yardley:
A man has been arrested and charged with murder in relation to the death of a woman in Tokoroa last month.
Police were called to a Hinau Street property shortly before midnight on 18 June, and a woman was found unresponsive.
Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police can now name her as 47-year-old Michelle Tangimataiti, of Tokoroa.
Police have arrested and charged a 39-year-old man with her murder.
He is due to appear in Tokoroa District Court on today [Wednesday 8 July].
Police continue to support Michelle’s family at this extremely difficult time.
