Attribute to Senior Sergeant Craig Ellison:
Police can confirm one person has died following a two-vehicle crash in Rangiora this afternoon.
The crash occurred on Percival Street about 12.45pm.
Despite the best efforts of first responders and emergency personnel, one of the drivers died at the scene. Police are providing support to their next of kin.
Another person was treated for moderate injuries.
The road has since reopened and enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
