Police can confirm one person has died following a crash just south of Whatawhata this morning.
The crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on State Highway 39 was reported at around 6:40am.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
State Highway 39 remains closed between Koromatua Road and Higgison Road with cordons in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
