The Waikato Expressway is currently closed southbound between the Great South Road on-ramp and the Pioneer Road off-ramp following a crash.
The two-vehicle crash was reported just before 7pm.
Initial indications are that there are serious injuries.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
