State Highway 2 is blocked at the intersection with Pahoia Road in Whakamārama, due to fallen power poles and trees.
No injuries have been reported.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
Diversions are in place, however these diversions are not suitable for heavy vehicles.
