Police are issuing an urgent correction following the name release of the Whanganui homicide victim earlier today.
A court-issued suppression order is in place covering the name of the victim.
Police ask any media who have since released the name of the victim to edit their stories to reflect this.
We apologise for the error, and thank everyone for their cooperation.
