Police initially received a report of a truck fire on the Peka Peka to Otaki Expressway just south of the Otaki Gorge Road around 5pm.

The northbound road is down to one lane and Fire and Emergency crews are responding to the blaze.

Traffic is slow in the area and there are significant delays.

Police are aware of a handful of other collisions on the road and would like to remind motorists to slow down, and be prepared to wait.

Three vehicles were reported to have collided on Main Highway, with one car rolling on it’s roof around 5:30pm and staff en route to the crash saw two minor nose-to-tail crashes on the way

No injuries have been reported.

Traffic is moving slowly in the area and Police ask commuters eager to get home to slow down as the road is cleared.
