Further person charged for the murder of Steven Taiatini

A second person has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of Steven Taiatini in Ōpōtiki last year. 

Steven Taiatini was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saint John Street Ōpōtiki, following an altercation late on the evening of Friday 9 June, 2023.

A 38-year-old woman is due to appear in the Whakatāne District Court today on charges of murder.

Police have remained dedicated to finding answers and holding those responsible to account for both Steven’s death and the violent incidents which surrounded it.

The investigation continues and Police remain interested in hearing from anyone with information that may be useful to us about what happened.
