Police can advise one person has died following a two vehicle crash involving a truck on State Highway 2, near Waitahanui Lane, Pukehina.
Police responded to the crash around 5am.
Two further people were transported to Tauranga Hospital in a serious and moderate condition.
The Serious Crash Unit are conducting a scene examination and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
The road remains closed and diversions are in place on Ohinepanea Road and Old Coach Road.
