Police are continuing the search for missing man Jingting Guo, who went missing after setting out for a dive in Titahi Bay last week.

Mr Guo set out on his dive on Thursday 19 October. On Sunday night, Police were alerted that he had not returned home.

Yesterday, Monday 23 October, a member of the public reported finding diving equipment, including a smart watch, on the shore of Tirau Bay.

With the assistance of Surf Life Saving, shoreline searches were conducted between Onehunga Bay and Green Point yesterday. The search effort continues today, with LandSar Wellington conducting land-based shoreline searches.

Police are consulting with local iwi and conducting other enquiries to locate Jingting. This includes establishing his possible dive and swim path.

Police continue to appeal to the public for information. If you sighted Jingting on Thursday, or have seen any diving gear along the Titahi Bay coastline in the days since, please contact Police.

Any information can be reported via 105, or online via https://www.police.govt.nz/use-105 using ‘update report’ and referencing file number 231023/4039.
