Police are continuing with their search to locate West Auckland father of two Dylan Barford who was reported missing on Sunday 24 September 2023.
We are wanting to speak with the drivers and occupants of three vehicles shown in the motorway CCTV images provided and believe a person likely to be Dylan was seen in the vicinity of this portion of the motorway a short time beforehand.
All vehicles are sighted travelling north on State Highway 16 between State Highway 18 and Brigham Creek Road. Police would like to ascertain the reason for their braking or stopping as described.
• Vehicle 1 – At about 4:27am on Sunday 24 September 2023, a silver vehicle is seen traveling north on State Highway 16 towards Brigham Creek. The vehicle is seen slowing down on the motorway and eventually stops on the shoulder of the motorway backing onto Costco Northwest, Westgate. The vehicle has stopped for approximately four minutes and leaves at approximately 4:32am.
• Vehicle 2 – At about 4:29am, a second vehicle, possibly a dark sedan traveling north is seen briefly braking on the motorway, passing the parked vehicle before continuing north.
• Vehicle 3 – At about 4:30am, a third vehicle, a white sedan traveling north is seen heavily braking on the motorway and passing the parked vehicle before continuing north.
Dylan is 34 years old, of medium build, 168cm tall and has tattoos on the rear of his right elbow and left forearm. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue adidas tear away pants late on Saturday evening 23 September.
His family have requested that their privacy is respected during this difficult time.
