Police have charged a man in relation to a burglary of a trailer overnight on Saturday 30 April, in Mangakakahi, Rotorua.

The trailer was used by a charity organisation to deliver food to locals.

It was located in a good condition at a property in Poroporo on Wednesday 31 May, when Police executed a search warrant at an address on Rewatu Road.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with receiving property and is due to appear in Whakatane District Court on 6 June.

The trailer has now been returned to the owner.

Enquiries are ongoing and further charges are likely.

Police take this type of offending seriously and work hard to hold offenders to account.

If you witness any suspicious behaviour report it to Police on 105 if it’s after the fact or 111 if it’s happening now.
