Arrests made following search warrant in Oamaru

Police have arrested and charged two people after a pre-planned search warrant on Friday, at a residential address on Tees Street, Oamaru.

A 25-year-old man was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

He appeared in Timaru District Court on Saturday 25 March and is due to reappear in Oamaru District Court on Wednesday 5 April.

A 26-year-old woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine and utensils. 

She is due to appear in Oamaru District Court on Wednesday 29 March.

Police, including the Dunedin Armed Offender Squad, Police negotiators, and dog units assisted in the search warrant.
