Arrest made following commercial burglaries, Bell Block

A man has been arrested and charged in relation to a series of commercial burglaries in Bell Block over the past month.

Between 16 February and 15 March, Police received eight reports of commercial burglaries, in which cash and high value items were taken.

Police identified a suspect and yesterday, search warrants were executed at addresses related to him.

During the warrants Police recovered a large number of items relating to the burglaries.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and has been charged in relation to all eight burglaries.

He appeared before the New Plymouth District Court this morning, and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance on 13 April.

As the matter is now before the courts, Police cannot comment further.
