Emergency services are at the scene of a serious single-vehicle crash on SH33, Paengaroa.
Police were called about 3.10am.
The road currently remains closed, and no suitable diversions are available in the immediate vicinity.
Police ask motorists to avoid the area and delay travel, if possible.
