Police can now confirm a person involved in a crash on Te Araroa Road, State Highway 35 in Hicks Bay this afternoon, died at the scene.
Police received a report that a truck crashed into a bridge at about 4.40pm.
The road has now been cleared.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
