Investigation following crash involving Police vehicle, Hamilton East

An investigation is underway following an incident this afternoon where a Police vehicle has collided with a pedestrian near the intersection of Anzac Parade and Victoria Street, Hamilton.

About 3.15pm, a Police vehicle left the station on Anzac Parade with lights and siren activated heading to an urgent incident, and the collision happened shortly afterward.

We are working to establish the exact circumstances of what has occurred.

We will be providing support to the pedestrian and their family, as well as our staff involved.

The IPCA will also be notified. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to come forward and speak to Police.
