Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Pyes Pa Road, near the intersection with Te Matai Road, Ngawaro.
Police were called to the crash at 3pm.
Initial indications are that several people have sustained moderate injuries.
The road is closed, with diversions in place.
Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
