Arrest made after serious assault in Flaxmere

Hawke’s Bay Police have arrested a man in relation to a serious assault last night on a taxi driver in Flaxmere.

Police were notified of the assault around 11:20 pm.

The driver was taken to Hospital in a serious condition.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear tomorrow in the Hastings District Court charged with wounding with intent to injure.

Police would like to reassure the community that incidents like this are taken extremely seriously.
