Police can now name the climber who was located deceased on Monday 20th June in the Banks Peninsula area.
He was 54-year-old Matthias Kerkmann, of Lincoln.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
His death has been referred to the Coroner.
Family have asked for privacy.
