State Highway 1 is closed just north of Tokoroa, following a crash involving two vehicles reported at 4.10pm.
Emergency services are currently responding and it appears that people have been injured.
Serious Crash Unit have been notified.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and to avoid the area if possible.
