Emergency services are responding to a single-car crash on SH1 near Hurae Road in Waitahanui, Taupo.
The crash was reported to Police just before 1:45pm.
Initial indications are that there are serious injuries.
Traffic management is being put in place and there is a diversion by the airport.
The Serious Crash Unit are attending the scene
Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays.
