Emergency services are responding to a single-vehicle crash on Dawson Road, Taupiri, in the Waikato, which occurred just after 4pm this afternoon.
The road remains blocked in both directions as power lines were brought down, and it is likely to be closed to traffic for some time. The road closure is between Lake Road and Kerie Road.
Police are advising motorists to delay their travel or avoid the area altogether.
An update on any injuries sustained in the crash will be provided when information becomes available.
