State Highway 2, Waitakaruru has reopened following an earlier serious crash involving two vehicles.
Police were called to a two vehicle collision at 2.15pm. Two people have been seriously injured in the crash.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
Police would like to thank motorists for their understanding while emergency services were at the scene.
