Roads have reopened and Police cordons lifted, following a large funeral procession in Auckland this afternoon.

Many of the funeral’s attendees have left the Grey Lynn and Mangere Bridge area, but Police will continue to monitor the situation into the evening.

Police want to thank the public for their patience earlier today when Police cordoned off a section of Great North Road as a precaution to help manage traffic and keep people safe.

Police have camera footage and have also received information from members of the public about some of the driving behaviour exhibited today, and Police will be following this information up to ensure anyone who was seen putting others in danger will be held accountable.

Police thank those members of the public who have reported information to us and provided photos and videos to us.

Anyone with information or who has witnessed any concerning behaviour is encouraged to report it to Police by phoning 105.

Police have not made any arrests today.
