The climate summary for April is attached along with a graphic for your use. In addition we have collated a list of places which have had particularly dry patches this year.

       Culverden 23.6 mm Record driest (records began in 1921)
        Waiau 35.6 mm Record driest (records began in 1974)
        Bromley 61.4 mm 3rd driest on record (records began in 1961)
       Kaikōura 69.6 mm 2nd driest on record (records began in 1898)  
       Christchurch (Riccarton) 76.6 mm 2nd driest on record (records began in 2002)
        Diamond Harbour 80.2 mm 4th driest on record (records began in 1961)
        Rangiora 90.6 mm 6th driest on record (records began in 1965)
        Lincoln 91.8 mm 10th driest on record (records began in 1881)
        Cheviot 94.0 mm 2nd driest on record (records began in 1982)
        Waipara 97.8 mm 6th driest on record (records began in 1973)
        Napier 104.4 mm 8th driest on record (records began in 1870)
        Akaroa 123.8 mm 6th driest on record (records began in 1977)
        Gisborne 162.2 mm 8th driest on record (records began in 1937)
