Key facts

The 6-day series includes jobs with a pay
period equal to or less than 7 days, while the 20-day series covers jobs
with pay periods of 14 days or fewer. The 34-day series includes all jobs
regardless of their pay period.

The 34-day series indicated that for the
latest week, the week ended 24 January 2021:

  • the number of paid jobs (compared with the
    previous week) were:
    • 2,203,760 total paid jobs (up 14,090 or 0.64
      percent)
    • 112,890 paid jobs in primary industries (down
      500 or 0.44 percent)
    • 424,020 paid jobs in goods-producing industries
      (up 4,490 or 1.07 percent)
    • 1,610,350 in services industries (up 9,400
      or 0.59 percent)
    • 56,500 in unclassified industries (up 690
      or 1.24 percent)
  • the median income (compared with the previous
    week) was:
    • $1,065.09 (up $0.62 or 0.06 percent).
