Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises shoulder widening and sealing works will get underway today (27 January) on State Highway 30 in Kapenga.
The work will take place between Bryce Road and the intersection with State Highway 5.
The road will operate under Stop/Go traffic management during the day with a 30km/h temporary speed limit in place. At night the site will be unattended with a 50km/h temporary speed limit in place.
Waka Kotahi reminds motorists to take extra care when travelling through the site, and asks them to please adhere to the temporary speed restrictions for their own safety, and that of our road workers and other road users. Motorists are advised to expect minor delays and to allow additional time for their journeys or consider an alternate route.
The works are expected to be complete by the end of March 2021, weather permitting.
