Music & Movies in Parks
Free music and movies return to parks this summer.
With concerts every weekend from 16th January through to CultureFest at the end of March, there is plenty to get the whole family dancing to the beat.
Meanwhile, Movies in Parks kicks off on Waitangi weekend and goes through to the end of March with a great selection of recent and classic movies to entertain the whole family.

Take the kids to the orienteering course set up in Margaret Griffen Park for a competitive family.

With the America’s Cup on this summer, now is the perfect time to get into the Martime Museum.
Whether it is your first time or your one-hundredth, the America’s Cup Family Trail is a fun way to explore our yachting and boat-building history.
Explore the new Blue Water Black Magic Gallery and find out what would cause a carbon-fibre mast to snap, the connection between bees and the America’s Cup yachts, or get immersed in Sarah-Jane Blake’s interactive artwork.
Classic Kiwi Summer Road Trip
Experience a class Kiwi road trip without being stuck in the car for hours on end.
Spot iconic locations and landmarks as you wander the road-trip inspired trail through MOTAT.
While there, explore and learn what it takes for space travel to occur and what technological advances are needed to allow us to live on other planets.
Wandering around MOTAT throughout the weekend also provides opportunities to see blacksmiths at work, ride a steam train or discover the science behind everyday phenomena.
Building aspiration
The Brickman is back at Auckland Museum to wow and inspire kids of all ages.
The awesome exhibition includes the tallest LEGO® brick model in the Southern Hemisphere and is a perfect afternoon’s entertainment for anyone aspiring to be the next brick-building whiz.
Finish the exhibition by checking out the Brick Room where your imagination is encouraged to run wild and have fun.
While exploring the museum, be sure to check out the partnership exhibition with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
Called ‘Not One More Acre!”, this free exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of the iwi’s eviction from their ancestral lands at Takaparawhau Bastion Point.
