HANOI, VIETNAM – Media OutReach Newswire – 27 October 2026 – To support the economy and in line with the Government’s and State Bank of Vietnam’s (SBV) directives, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, stock code: SSB) adjusts its 2026 business plan. The Bank also elects a new Board Chairperson to strengthen senior leadership.

SeABank’s BOD currently has 8 members.

Adjusting profit targets to support the economy

In line with the Government and SBV directives to ease business difficulties, lower interest rates, and support economic growth, SeABank’s BOD has approved a 15% reduction in its 2026 profit-before-tax target to VND6,008 billion enabling three key actions:

First, reducing interest rates. Annual deposit rates have been cut by 0.5–0.7 percentage points for tenors of six months or longer, creating room to lower lending rates, particularly for SMEs, priority sectors and green projects.

Second, credit allocation and risk management. The Bank prioritizes businesses with sound financial foundations and viable business plans, customers in priority sectors.

Third, leveraging ecosystems. SeABank utilizes existing customer ecosystems and value chains to provide integrated financial solutions, enhancing customer experience and engagement.

These measures reflect SeABank’s alignment with policy directions and strategic focus on growth quality and customer support over rapid expansion at all costs.

Electing new BOD Chairperson, strengthening senior leadership

HANOI, VIETNAM – Media OutReach Newswire – 27 October 2026 – As Vietnam pursues its ambition of becoming a high-income developed economy by 2045, artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to play a growing role in supporting productivity and innovation. Alongside technology adoption, developing the skills and management capabilities to apply AI effectively is becoming an important part of the country’s workforce agenda.

Dr Tan Hong Ming, Assistant Dean (Digital Operations), NUS Business School (sixth from left), with Ms Tara Bal, Head of Corporate Communications, NUS Business School (fifth from right), together with representatives from the Vietnamese media.

A 2026 study commissioned by Amazon Web Services (AWS) found that 26 per cent of Vietnamese businesses have adopted AI, up from 18 per cent a year earlier. However, 61 per cent of adopters remain at the experimentation stage, while 87 per cent of surveyed employers consider reskilling existing employees important to their AI strategies.

Vietnam has also prioritised workforce development through its national AI human resources development programme, approved in August 2026. The programme includes plans to equip around 10 million workers with basic AI skills by 2030, alongside developing specialised AI talent and strengthening AI education.

Dr Tan Hong Ming, Assistant Dean (Digital Operations) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, said workforce development needs to extend beyond technical proficiency.

“AI literacy is only the starting point. The bigger challenge is whether organisations know how to redesign work around AI. A company can train every employee to use AI tools and still see little improvement in productivity if its processes and management practices remain unchanged. This is why leadership capability matters just as much as technical skills,” said Dr Tan at a media engagement session in Hanoi.

From adopting AI to creating business value

As AI tools become more accessible, businesses face decisions about where the technology can be applied, how existing work processes may need to change and what employees need to learn.

Dr Tan believes that while AI can improve productivity by automating tasks, organisations must also consider how its growing use affects the way employees learn and develop expertise.

“Struggle is an important part of learning. We develop expertise and judgement by working through difficult problems, making mistakes and figuring things out for ourselves. AI can now take away much of that struggle by providing answers almost instantly. While this improves productivity, we need to be careful that we are not also removing the experiences that help people learn and grow. Organisations need to rethink how employees develop these capabilities in an AI-enabled workplace,” he said.

Beyond developing AI literacy, organisations need to consider how employees assess AI-generated information, how managers incorporate the technology into workflows and how senior leaders oversee its use in business decisions.

Rethinking how professionals learn

The growing use of AI also raises questions about how professionals acquire the experience and judgement needed to take on more complex responsibilities.

While AI can help generate information and recommendations, learning to make business decisions still requires opportunities to question assumptions, evaluate competing perspectives and work through problems without complete information.

NUS Business School is piloting an AI-enabled business simulation that allows MBA and Executive MBA students to practise these capabilities.

The simulation uses ScholAIstic, a generative AI platform developed by the NUS AI Centre for Educational Technologies (AICET). Dr Emir Hrnjić, Senior Lecturer in Finance at NUS Business School, has been working with AICET to adapt and refine the platform’s capabilities for management education, creating AI-simulated executives whom students interview before making business recommendations.

Professor Teo Chung Piaw, Dean of NUS Business School, said the growing capabilities of AI require business schools to examine not only what students learn, but also how they develop and apply their knowledge.

“The role of business education is changing as AI becomes part of how organisations operate and make decisions. We cannot simply introduce new technology into existing teaching methods and assume that learning will improve. Business schools need to examine what students should learn, how they acquire that knowledge and how their ability to apply it is assessed. Our approach is to use AI to create more opportunities for students to think critically, engage with different perspectives and exercise independent judgement,” said Prof Teo.

Beyond preparing graduates for the workplace, postgraduate programmes and Executive Education can provide opportunities for working professionals and senior executives to update their knowledge and develop the capabilities needed to manage technological and organisational change.

Building Vietnam’s golden workforce

Vietnam’s Vision 2045 places continued emphasis on productivity, innovation and the development of higher-value industries. As AI becomes more widely adopted, higher education and professional training can contribute by equipping graduates, managers and senior executives with the capabilities to apply technology effectively in business.

Dr Tan said the country’s demographic advantage provides a foundation for developing these capabilities throughout people’s careers.

“Vietnam’s demographic advantage gives it an important opportunity, but a young workforce alone does not guarantee economic success. The real opportunity is to develop a workforce that can continuously learn, adapt and create value alongside AI. If Vietnam can combine its human capital with the effective adoption of AI, it can turn its golden population into a golden workforce,” he said.

4. Oxfam – Ultra-rich 0.1% produce more carbon pollution than nearly half of humanity while cashing in on the climate disasters they create

October 27, 2026

Source: Oxfam Aotearoa

The world’s richest 0.1 percent (8 million people) produces more carbon pollution than the world’s poorest 3.5 billion people combined, reveals new Oxfam analysis. Published ahead of the UN climate summit (COP31) in Türkiye, the report exposes how the world’s super-rich are driving climate breakdown through their outsized emissions, while shielding themselves from the consequences and, increasingly, profiting from the destruction.

A person in the richest 0.1 percent has contributed nearly 400 times more to today’s extreme heatwaves than someone in the poorest 50 percent. Collectively, this small group of people produces over three times more carbon pollution than the entire population of Sub-Saharan Africa (1.3 billion people).

  • Person in the richest 0.1 percent has contributed nearly 400 times more to extreme heatwaves than someone in the poorest half of humanity.
  • Oxfam’s research shows that while the super-rich are responsible for a disproportionate share of carbon pollution, it is ordinary people who bear the brunt of the resulting floods, fires and famine.
  • Oxfam’s new “Destroy & Rebuild Index” exposes how super-rich investors backing fossil fuels and other high-polluting industries are also profiting from disaster preparedness and clean-up.
  • Oxfam urges governments to make rich polluters pay and end climate profiteering.

“The climate crisis is often described as a shared human challenge. It is not. Those who have done the least to cause it are losing their homes, their harvests and, increasingly, their lives. Meanwhile, the super-rich can buy their way out of danger – by retreating to high-tech underground survival bunkers, hiring private firefighting crews, and securing private insurance – and are actively profiting from the consequences of their pollution. This is not a tragedy of shared fate; it is a crime of extreme inequality,” said Oxfam International Executive Director Amitabh Behar.

Combining carbon inequality data with cutting-edge climate attribution models, Oxfam has found that:

  • The richest 1 percent are responsible for 20 percent of global warming since 1990 – 100 times more, per person, than someone in the poorest half of humanity.
  • Just one year of emissions by the richest 1 percent will cause 1.9 million excess heat-related deaths. 78 percent of these deaths will occur in low- and lower-middle-income countries, despite these countries being responsible for 8 percent of global emissions.
  • The emissions of the richest 1 percent will cause nearly $53 trillion in damage by 2050.

Used exclusively by the super-rich, private aviation remains one of the clearest examples of extreme carbon inequality. New analysis by Oxfam of private jet tracking data finds that:

  • Combined, private jets emit more carbon pollution in two seconds than someone in the poorest half of humanity emits in a year.

While the super-rich are responsible for a disproportionate share of carbon pollution, it is ordinary people who bear the brunt of the resulting floods, fires and famine.

“Eight million people produce more carbon pollution than three and a half billion. In places like Tonga and Solomon Islands, families who did the least to cause this crisis are paying for it first, rebuilding after floods and droughts they had no hand in causing. That isn’t bad luck. It follows from who decides where emissions get cut and who pays. At COP31, New Zealand has a seat in that room. It should use it to back taxes on extreme wealth and fossil fuel profits, and push for climate finance that comes as grants, not more debt.” said Oxfam Aotearoa Executive Director Jason Myers.

The super-rich buy safety through private insurance and homes in safer, cooler places. For everyone else, climate disasters mean destroyed homes and crops, depleted savings, and lost livelihoods. This leaves people even more exposed when the next disaster hits, deepening the inequality that made them far more vulnerable to climate disasters in the first place. By 2050, as many as 1 billion people (around 10 percent of the world’s population) could be displaced by the climate crisis. Most of those displaced will be in the Global South.

Oxfam’s new Destroy & Rebuild Index identifies 217 corporations profiting from industries that fuel climate breakdown as well as disaster preparedness, recovery and reconstruction.

BlackRock and Vanguard are invested in 92 percent of the corporations in the index. Their combined investments total more than $1 trillion.

The report also warns that climate disasters are increasingly exploited to push policies that deepen inequality, including the privatization of climate action and public services, land grabs, deregulation and tax breaks benefiting the super-rich. The result is a vicious cycle of injustice: deaths from flooding are seven times higher in more unequal countries.

“The ultra-rich are setting the planet on fire and then charging the rest of us for the extinguishers,” said Behar. “They profit from the pollution. They profit from the disaster. And they profit again from the clean-up.” said Behar.

Oxfam is calling on governments meeting at COP31 to:

  • Make rich polluters pay to significantly and rapidly curb their carbon emissions, including through permanent wealth and income taxes, a permanent tax on fossil fuel corporations, and punitive taxes on high-emitting luxury items like private jets.
  • Substantially increase climate finance for the Global South, prioritizing public, grant-based finance rather than loans that deepen debt. The amount for adaptation should be tripled by 2035.
  • Radically reduce inequality within and between countries, including through climate-resilient public infrastructure and public services.
  • End profiteering from climate disasters. Governments need to curb corporate power in emergency response, reconstruction, and food systems during disasters.

Notes to editors

Download Oxfam’s report “Disaster Divide” and methodology note.

Oxfam’s analysis finds that 1.18 million or 78 percent of excess deaths due to heat will occur in low- and lower-middle-income countries.

Since 1990, carbon emissions from the richest 1 percent have caused global economic output to drop by $2.9 trillion. By 2050, this will rise to $52.6 trillion, equivalent to a 0.5 percent loss of global cumulative GDP over that period. The heaviest economic toll will fall on the countries least responsible for climate change.

According to the International Organization for Migration, as many as 1 billion people could be displaced by the climate crisis by 2050. The frequency and intensity of these events is rising as a direct result of climate change.

5. Huitongda Network (9878.HK) Subsidiary Jujia Yuntong Launches iPhone Duo Across Over 1,000 Apple Authorised Stores

October 27, 2026

Source: Media Outreach

“Since joining Huitongda’s Jujia Yuntong programme, we have gained access to Apple product supply. New products arrive more promptly, and we also benefit from the brand’s support. For a mobile phone retailer in a township, this makes running the business much easier,” said Mr Qiu, the owner of Youyin Communications. He added that, after becoming an authorised retailer, the store received dedicated display counters and demo units for local customers to experience. Jujia Yuntong also helped the store adopt online-to-offline (O2O) on-demand retail and smart retail cabinets, significantly improving operating efficiency.

“Customers nearby can find our products on the on-demand delivery pages of Meituan and JD.com. Once an order is placed online, a delivery rider collects it from our store using a pickup code, and customers can receive their new phone in as little as one hour,” Mr Qiu said. He added that the new business model increased the store’s overall sales volume by 20%.

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 27 October 2026 – At 8:30 a.m. on 23 October, Youyin Communications, a mobile phone retailer in Baohua Town, Jurong, Jiangsu Province, began selling the new iPhone Duo alongside retailers in urban markets. This marked the sixth consecutive year that Jujia Yuntong, a subsidiary of Huitongda Network (9878.HK), had participated in the launch-day rollout of new products. At the same time, more than 1,000 Apple authorised stores under Huitongda’s subsidiary Jujia Yuntong across China launched the iPhone Duo.

“Since joining Huitongda’s Jujia Yuntong programme, we have gained access to Apple product supply. New products arrive more promptly, and we also benefit from the brand’s support. He added that the new business model increased the store’s overall sales volume by 20%.

Drawing on its distribution network and strengths in local operations rooted in China’s county and township markets, Huitongda continues to deepen strategic cooperation with leading upstream brands. It brings popular new products and high-demand merchandise from major urban markets to county and township markets, while rapidly replicating store formats and business models. These efforts help stimulate local consumption and give local consumers access to new products at the same time as their urban counterparts.

As AI adoption accelerates, Huitongda is combining in-house development with external partnerships to expand the use of AI across retail scenarios throughout the urban and rural distribution chain. These initiatives aim to further support brands in serving county and township markets and help Huitongda’s member stores improve operating efficiency.

6. Asia to add 700+ million middle-class adults by 2036 as e-commerce moves beyond cards, WDL and EBANX find

October 27, 2026

Source: Media Outreach

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 21 October 2026 – Asia is projected to add 702 million middle-class adults between 2026 and 2036, three-quarters of all middle-class growth in emerging markets, according to a new study from World Data Lab (WDL) and EBANX, a global technology company specializing in payment services for emerging markets.

Emerging markets will add USD 8.7T in online spending by 2036

Source: Media Outreach

Joint study shows emerging markets will generate 60% of new online spending over the next decade — most of it from consumers without a credit card

But this new consumer class will not shop the same way developed-market consumers do: by 2036, only 20% of adults in emerging markets will hold a credit card, against 66% in developed markets.

Global online spending is projected to grow from USD 11 trillion in 2026 to USD 25.6 trillion in 2036. Emerging markets add USD 8.7 trillion of that increase (60% of all new online spending), with China (USD +4.7 trillion) and India (USD +1.3 trillion) leading this growth. Indonesia (USD +243 billion), Brazil (USD +249 billion) and Mexico (USD +191 billion) form the next tier.

The categories matter as much as the markets. Online gaming spending in emerging markets grows 14% a year over the decade, the fastest of any category, and SaaS nearly 10%. Emerging markets will generate 76% of global growth in social media spending and 64% in SaaS.

The demographic picture challenges a common assumption. Consumers aged 45 and over account for 51% of emerging markets’ online spending growth through 2036, and spending by those aged 65 and over grows 12% a year, faster than any other age group.

The outlook was discussed during “Navigating Payments: How innovation and fragmentation are changing the game for e-commerce,” a webinar co-hosted by World Data Lab (WDL) and EBANX.

“Over the next ten years, people aged 45 and over will add USD 4.4 trillion in online spending in emerging markets, half of all the growth. Some of them already shop on their phones and will keep doing so as they get older. Others will buy online for the first time in their fifties or sixties. Merchants who build their checkout only for a 25-year-old will miss both groups,” explained Wolfgang Fengler, CEO of WDL.

The study models consumer spending, demographics, and financial access across 184 countries to 2036, drawing on the World Bank’s Global Findex and WDL’s consumer models, combined with EBANX’s experience processing payments for global merchants in emerging markets since 2012.

“If your checkout only takes credit cards, you are competing for one in five adults in emerging markets and conceding the other four”, said Marie-Elise Droga, Chief Revenue Officer of EBANX. “The merchants growing fastest with us didn’t wait for cards to arrive: they added the payment rails their customers already use, and they’re taking new buyers, bigger baskets and recurring revenue that card-only competitors can’t even see.”

834 million new online buyers, 281 million new credit cards

Between 2026 and 2036, the global economy will add 834 million online buyers but only 281 million credit card holders—a ratio of nearly three to one. In emerging markets, two in three new online buyers (67%) will arrive without a credit card. Adults without it already account for 55% of online spending in emerging markets, a share that rises to 90% in India and 93% in Sub-Saharan Africa. Credit cardless adults also represent 52% to 59% of spending in every digital category, from gaming and SaaS to streaming and travel.

Digital payment use is also running ahead of online shopping. Of the 2.6 billion emerging-market adults spending between USD 6 and USD 25 a day, 70% already pay merchants digitally while only 33% buy online, leaving at least 957 million digitally active consumers who are not yet online buyers. Many hold a bank account or mobile wallet but no card that works at an international checkout.

“This is closely tied to the innovation that came out of the financial industry in emerging markets, which developed solutions for an increasingly mobile economy and for the habits of local consumers. Today, we call them local payment methods, or LPMs, and they allowed e-commerce growth to decouple from the credit card, which still has very low penetration in these countries,” said Estelita Hass, head of Market Intelligence at EBANX.

Subscriptions are the next frontier — and India shows why

Recurring categories such as streaming, SaaS and online education will reach USD 2.1 trillion a year in emerging markets by 2036, with USD 1.1 trillion coming from adults without a credit card. In India, 82% of recurring online spending will be cardless. Account-based recurring rails are beginning to close that gap: a global SaaS company saw a 20% uplift in new subscribers after adding UPI at checkout in India, and cybersecurity company Nord Security now generates 28% of its revenue in Brazil through Pix Automático, Brazil’s recurring instant payment, six months after launching it with EBANX.

By combining almost three decades of threat research with advanced cyber threat intelligence, patented threat attribution technologies, AI-assisted analytics, expert human validation and an ecosystem approach, Kaspersky helps organizations move beyond isolated alerts toward a deeper understanding of adversaries and their activities. Kaspersky’s emphasis on APT intelligence, threat attribution, scientific research, ecosystem collaboration, regulatory readiness, and operational resilience, strengthens its competitive positioning and reinforces its role as a trusted global cyber threat intelligence partner.

Addressing customers’ needs

The recognition highlights that Kaspersky’s strategic evolution reflects a clear alignment with industry priorities. Kaspersky’s offering was highly commended for its capability to address customers’ unmet or under-served needs, particularly in reducing alert fatigue through context-rich insights and reducing security-tool fragmentation via a unified ecosystem. The company was also recognized for securing distributed digital infrastructure, helping address the cybersecurity skills shortage /with expert-led and AI-assisted services, and supporting regulatory compliance and data sovereignty requirements.

“Kaspersky effectively aligns its portfolio with evolving enterprise security requirements by integrating threat intelligence, platform consolidation, cloud protection, and governance. This intelligence-led approach strengthens operational resilience, simplifies security management, and enhances its competitive positioning amid increasingly complex cyber threat landscapes,” – says Sapan Agarwal, SVP, Frost & Sullivan.

Kaspersky Greater China General Manager Alvin Cheng stated: Winning the Frost & Sullivan Annual Best Enterprise Award is strong industry recognition of Kaspersky’s intelligence-driven security strategy. As local digital transformation and compliance requirements continue to tighten, advanced threats are becoming increasingly stealthy and sophisticated. Leveraging our mature APT attribution capabilities and open ecosystem, we will continue to translate cutting-edge global threat insights into local implementations, helping enterprises in China identify adversaries, manage cyber risks with confidence, and fortify the security foundation of their operations.

Leadership focus

Kaspersky’s market leadership is driven by continuous scientific research, threat intelligence, and patented attribution capabilities supported by specialized Expertise Centers. The company enhances operational efficiency by integrating artificial intelligence with human validation while collaborating globally with law enforcement and maintaining Transparency Centres for independent source-code reviews.

Visionary scenarios through megatrends

Kaspersky’s visionary outlook aligns closely with emerging cybersecurity megatrends, anticipating a transition from reactive defense toward predictive intelligence. Recognizing artificial intelligence as a primary transformative force, the company continues to invest in AI-driven behavioral analytics to counter automated malware creation while recognizing the growing need to secure AI systems themselves as critical enterprise assets. This long-term strategy centers on shifting from traditional indicators of compromise (IoCs) to predictive indicators of attack (IoAs), converging cyber threat intelligence with operational technology (OT) protection, and fostering centralized ecosystems that drive evidence-based cyber attribution and adaptive enterprise resilience

Brand equity

Kaspersky has established a globally diversified brand by operating across countries and territories while serving hundreds of millions of users and a broad enterprise customer base. Its deep scientific expertise is embedded into a comprehensive enterprise portfolio, enabling the company to support organizations at any cybersecurity maturity stage. This strategy reinforces Kaspersky’s reputation as a trusted partner capable of addressing increasingly complex digital security challenges

“Kaspersky’s brand equity is increasingly shaped by its intelligence leadership, scientific research, and transparency initiatives rather than traditional endpoint security alone. This strategic differentiation strengthens enterprise trust, reinforces global market credibility, and supports sustained competitive advantage in evolving cybersecurity markets.” says Sapan Agarwal, SVP, Frost & Sullivan.

“Turning high-confidence threat intelligence into a reliable foundation for corporate growth is the core driver of our strategy. Earning this prestigious recognition from Frost & Sullivan is a powerful validation of our approach. As organizations navigate complex digital transformations, cloud migrations, and tightening regulatory environments, cyber risk management becomes a boardroom priority. Being named Company of the Year proves that Kaspersky Threat Intelligence provides enterprises with the exact clarity, completeness, and credibility they need to neutralize advanced adversaries and ensure long-term business development.” comments Gleb Gritsai, VP, Corporate Products at Kaspersky.
