Police are assisting Fire and Emergency New Zealand with traffic control at the scene of a fire on SH1 in Blenheim, near Alabama Road.
Police were called about 6.45am.
The road is currently closed north of the Alabama Road intersection, and traffic is being diverted.
Motorists should avoid the area, or expect delays.
