Two arrests made, more expected after disorder incident

Tauranga Police have arrested two men following a disorder incident at a large community gathering last weekend.

About 5.30pm on Saturday 24 August, Police were notified of a physical dispute involving a number of people, on Cheyne Road, Pyes Pa.

Today, two Tauranga men were arrested. A 39-year-old has been charged with assault, while a 44-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. They are due to appear in the Tauranga District Court on 5 September.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and more arrests are expected.
