Emergency services are responding to a one vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Ngongotaha Road/ SH36 near Taui Street.
The crash was reported around 1:50pm.
One person is in a critical condition.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
The road is blocked and diversions are being put in place at the intersections of Ngongotaha Road, Western Road and Hood Street.
