BusinessNZ has welcomed the decision to establish a Science System Advisory Group and University Advisory Group to provide guidance to the higher education system.
BusinessNZ Chief Executive Kirk Hope said it was helpful to have a focus on innovation and productivity within two related advisory groups.
“Universities have a vital role to play in educating our workforce and driving innovation to support economic growth, and the science system is critical for New Zealand’s productivity and trading environment.
“A high-performing university sector is essential to meet the economic challenges facing New Zealand.”
