Drowning at Ruakākā Beach, Northland

One person has drowned at Ruakākā Beach in Northland this morning.

Police were called to the beach at around 11.20am after a man got into difficulty in the water.

He was recovered from the water and brought to shore where CPR was performed. Sadly, he was unable to be revived. 

The man’s death will be referred to the Coroner.
