Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on State Highway 1 (Glenavy-Hilderthorpe Road), Waitaki.
The crash, involving a car and a truck, was reported to Police at 8.05pm.
At this stage there is no confirmed information regarding injuries.
The road is expected to be closed for some time and motorists are asked to take alternative routes where possible.
