State Highway 2 Upper Hutt closed following serious crash

State Highway 2 is closed in Upper Hutt, north of the Akatarawa Road intersection, following a serious crash

Update 2:30 PM:

The Police Serious Crash Unit is attending, and the highway will remain closed while it investigates the incident

The closure is expected to continue until early this evening – Drivers can expect significant delays travelling through the area until the Police investigation is complete and the crash scene is cleared.

Traffic is currently being diverted via Mangaroa Hill Rd, Parkes Line Rd, Maymorn Rd.

The incident, involving multiple vehicles, was reported just before 1:30 this afternoon.
