Police enquiries are continuing after a man was shot at an establishment in the city overnight.

At around 1.57am, emergency services responded to reports of a man with a gunshot wound at a Vincent Street address.

The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition, where he remains.

Police are working to establish the exact circumstances leading to the man’s injuries and would like to hear from anyone who has information which could assist our enquiries.

While the investigation is still in the early stages, we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public.

Police are working hard to identify those responsible and hold them to account.

A scene guard remains in place.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police via 105, referencing job number P056268687.
