Police can confirm that the single-vehicle crash in Massey, Auckland overnight was fatal.
A motorcyclist crashed while on the Northwestern Motorway near Lincoln Road around 10:25pm.
Despite efforts by emergency services, the driver sadly died at the scene.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family at this difficult time.
