Wairarapa drivers should expect traffic delays following serious crash on State Highway 2

Road users travelling on State Highway 2 between Carterton and Masterton need to be prepared for traffic delays.

It follows a serious crash just north of Carterton earlier this afternoon that has closed the state highway near Somerset Road.

Local detours are being put in place, and emergency services are at the scene.

However, as the crash has coincided with the Waitangi weekend holiday and local events, traffic delays in the area are expected.

Drivers should delay their trip or consider an alternate route.
