State Highway 2, Rimutaka Hill is blocked following an earlier vehicle break down.
A truck is blocking part of the road, creating extensive delays for cars and closure for trucks.
Work is underway to clear the road, however the delays are expected to remain for the next couple of hours.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Motorists are asked to remain patient while we work to clear the road as quickly and safely as possible.
